Dr. Shawn Llewellyn completed his Bachelor of Science (with honors) from Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Agricultural College with a major in Animal Sciences in 2004. He graduated with distinction from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island in May of 2008 and has been with Scottsdale ever since.

Shawn grew up in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, a region known for its many orchards and vineyards, and the high tides of the Bay of Fundy. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and camping, and the excitement of travelling. He has been busy exploring the many regions of British Columbia since moving to the west coast.

Dr. Llewellyn thrives on the constant learning and expansion of knowledge the veterinary profession provides. He pursues continuing education opportunities whenever possible and attends many seminars and conferences throughout the year. Some of Shawn's main interests include Dermatology, Behaviour, pain management and animal welfare/ethics.

Pets have always been an integral part of Shawn's life. His black Labrador Retriever named Shadow, and his Family's Miniature Poodle, Keshia, and cats, Teagie and Nikko have all played an important role. Shawn currently has two cats, Kyla and Casey, who were rescued from local humane shelters in the Maritimes.
